Eyelid surgery gives a youthful appearance to the eyelids which is achieved by removing excess skin and fat. Women in their forties are usually interested in this procedure, although it is not uncommon for younger people with innately suspended and swollen eyelids, to seek medical advice on this matter. Men, very often face the problem of excess eyelid skin. Regardless of the gender, the difficulties are the same. Eyelids are swollen, the feeling of heaviness and tiredness is present, the field of vision is narrowed and sometimes eye infections due to constant irritation may occur. Depending on the dominant problem, either only excess adipose tissue, or only excess skin or both the adipose tissue and skin will be removed.
The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia. If the transconjunctival blepharoplasty is the approach applied in lower eyelid surgery, general anesthesia is recommended. The patient is kept in the hospital for one day only. The scar is practically invisible since the incision is made in the fold of the eyelid. In addition, the skin of the eyelids is thin and has a natural ability to heal quickly without scars. The procedure takes 45 minutes for the upper and the 45 minutes for the lower eyelids. After the procedure, there is no pain, but the swelling appears, but it subsides in a couple of days. Therefore, resting and the application of cold compresses are recommended. Sutures are removed 5-7 days after the procedure, when patients can resume their everyday activities.
In addition to these procedures, mesotherapy, fillers, Botox and PRP method should be taken into consideration, all in order to achieve the maximum effect of rejuvenation with a few simple and non-invasive methods.
Dark circles are a problem both younger and older people face with. The overall health of internal organs (liver, kidneys) should always be examined first, the existence of dermatitis should be eliminated, after which solving the aesthetic problem could commence. Dark circles under the eyes are successfully removed by the application of PRP method, mesotherapy and fillers and lately by the transposition of adipose tissue. This is a method that enables forming a flap from the existing excess adipose tissue, which is transposed (transferred) into the region of dark, sunken lower eyelids.
