Main characteristics of youthful skin are its vigor and tone. This is, to a great extent, directly related to the distribution of adipose tissue under the skin. In our youth, adipose tissue is distributed along the edge of the lower eyelids, on the cheek bones, cheeks and the lips. Over time, this adipose tissue disappears from these regions and gathers along the jowl line and the neck.
Liposculpture is a procedure in aesthetic surgery which includes taking excess fat from certain body regions (hips, thighs, abdomen) and transferring it to the areas where it is missing, thus contributing to their rejuvenation. Sometimes a small amount of body fat is enough to make our face fresh, vigorous and rejuvenated. Under general anesthesia, through small puncture openings, the whole face can be rejuvenated by adding small amounts of fat. In particular, adipose tissue is used as natural filler (lipofilling) for cheekbone sculpting, for lip augmentation and wrinkle filling.
Adipose tissue is very rich in stem cells and growth factors which enable rejuvenation. Therefore, a procedure called lipofilling always involves PRP. This procedure is recommended for permanent correction of depressed facial scars.
