Forehead lift is a procedure which is performed to achieve a youthful appearance of the face. The excess skin from the forehead is removed together with horizontal and vertical wrinkles. When the excess skin on the forehead is so large that the problem cannot be remedied by applying some other procedure (Botox, barbed threads), forehead lift is recommended.
The procedure is performed under general anesthesia and it takes about two hours. The incision is made along the hairline thus leaving barely visible scar.
If necessary, this procedure can be performed together with eyelid surgery or a face and neck lift. Swelling and bruising may remain visible for several days after the procedure but they are gradually reduced with prescribed therapy. The patient may wash the hair two days after the procedure. Sutures are removed ten days after the intervention. Mild and moderate activities are allowed immediately after the procedure.
